DRUM sets

1961 Rogers Holiday blue sparkle: 14x20, 8x12, 14x14..... 3/$3250
Headliner set. Nice color. Jazz sizes. 3-ply Jasper shells.......
Flat bearing edges and wide reinforcement rings, No extra holes..
Fairly tight serial numbers. This is a set that came together....
About 1/2 of the bass drum lugs have typical hairline cracks + tune up.
The 14x14 has the smaller muffler knob, the lugs are almost perfect.
The 8x12 has the larger muffler knob, 8 lugs have hairline cracks, 4 don't.
14x20 has loose inlay strips that I scotch taped in place for now.
All parts are original, except the collet nose on the 8x12 is 70s.
I could not get a machined collet to spin on the collet plate is why.
I have never played them out, but I think I should, and you too...
You get three drums, one tom arm, 2 bass drum spurs, + 3 ft legs.
I do have a matching 5x14 Holiday snare that didn't come with the set.
I did not get the cymbal L arm with this set, so it would be extra
Yes, I can come up with a cymbal arm if you need it all complete...
With my snare drum, and a cymbal L arm with tilter, how about 4/$4250

1961: Rogers Holiday Astoria steel grey ripple cocktail drum set.
An Astoria cocktail set has a 5x14 snare drum mounted off a 16x16.
The steel grey ripple wrap has a nice amber yellow fade.
The bread and butter lugs have typical cracks, but tune up.
The only thing missing is the upbeat pedal. ........... 2/$2722
I have a Rogers upbeat pedal that did not come with this set.
I finally prepped that pedal, it will be available for extra dollars.

1961 Rogers Holiday wine red ripple: 14x20, 8x12, 14x14. 3/$3295
The wine red ripple has faded to a golden pink shade of orange..
Flat bearing edges and wide reinforcement rings, 3 ply shells...
A set that has been together and has fairly tight serial numbers
This set has more uncracked than cracked lugs, and all tune up..
The 8x12 has the smallest B&B lugs, and most are uncracked......
The 14x14 has the medium size B&B lugs, and most are uncracked..
The 14x20 has many uncracked lugs, but is the drum with issues..
The bass hoops are poor repaints with original inlays stapled in
The 14x20 has wrap splits near a bearing edge and by a tom mount
The 14x20 inside grey paint has strange shellac lacquer over it.
and the 14x20 has some wood filler in front bearing edge nicks..
The 14x20 has a shell mount knobby cymbal arm where it should be
The 14x20 has a tom mount a bit closer to center than Headliner.
This is a great sounding player’s set w/tall hoops on nice toms.
You get three drums, one tom arm, 2 bass drum spurs, + 3 ft legs

62/63 Rogers steel grey ripple Swingtime Bop: 12x20, 8x12, 14x14. Click Here
This clean, space saving, jazzette bop drum set has disappointing Click Here
bass drum hoops with half an inlay missing on one, and two inches Click Here
missing on the other hoop, and both bass hoops needing new paint. Click Here
It also has wide reinforcement rings found on earlier B&B sets... Click Here
The worst problem with this nifty scarce color set is the 14x14.. Click Here
It has a small pearl chunk, about 6” by 1” missing from the lower Click Here
bearing edge, as well as a crack in the pearl up by the top edge. Click Here
I have a scrap of same color wrap for repairs to be made with.... Click Here
The 14x14 is scratched inside + bottom rim + rods aren’t correct. Click Here
Otherwise okay. No extra holes. All 6 heads are new white Remos.. Click Here
And the hex cymbal arm and tilter are also included. .... 3/$3262 Click Here
And, I found the matching 5x14 Holiday snare.. It’s serial number Click Here
is right between the toms. There is a short pearl wrap crack by a Click Here
snare bed. And, it does have a new set of tension rods... 4/$3962 Click Here

Here is a nice Swingtime set in a cool color, in nice condition..
The 8x12 does have some snare rash on the back two panels. ......
No extra holes, no cracks in the wrap, and all the correct parts.

65/66 Rogers Holiday black onyx.. 14x20, 8x12, 16x16 g/vg 3/$2345
“Swingtime” model in a scarce color and it really came together..
All 3 drums have Holiday typed in on crossed out Yorktown labels.
New Remo heads all around, clean and ready to tune and play out..
Some fading causes uniform carmeling, typical of this color. ....
Inside of toms have rusty screws, the bass drum is not like that.
Nice appearance, but I can see some fine scratches in some spots.
Lower tom rims have some chrome blisters, other chrome is clean..
Bass drum hoop inlay is loose or missing in a couple of spots....
Or, with the 5x14 chrome Powertone that did come with it. 4/$2675

1966s Rogers "Delta” Tower blue sparkle 14x20, 8x12, and 14x14.. Click Here
Tower model drums are made w/center lugs like Ludwig club dates. Click Here
Delta sets usually came w/matching 5x14 6-lug Luxor snare drums. Click Here
So does this one and this set is all correct + unmodified except
that the floor tom has 2 very tiny extra holes near the top edge
My guess is that someone added a tone control at some time......
The 14x14 also has wrong tension rods, but the rims are right...
No other funny stuff. No fading. New or logo heads. It’s nice... Click Here
Comes with an original 18” hex cymbal arm + tilter... g+ 4/$3555 Click Here

1967s Rogers Headliner pink champagne: 14x20, 8x12, 16x16 3/$2267
Headliner model bass drum, but I am missing the cymbal arm.......
All the correct and original parts and some original heads, too..
Basically this is a low mileage drum set in a pretty, cool color.
14x20 reinforcement rings are quite sprung, 16x16 a little sprung
and the 8x12 is pretty good. A little fade shows in some areas...

9/72s Rogers New England white: 14x18, 8x12, 9x13, 16x16: 4/$2818 Click Here
Here is a Londoner set with a very hard to find 14x18 bass drum.. Click Here
The odd thing about the bass drum is that it has had two Knobbies
removed. Both are about where they usually put a single tom arm.. Click Here
Or, one is where they put a tom arm in a Buddy Rich Celebrity....
The other is where they put a tom arm in a Buddy Rich Headliner..
So there are eight holes that now have carriage bolts in them....
I can give you 2 Knobbies to install if you want occupied holes..
Then the drum will appear to have no extra holes. 1 flaw remains.
There’s a small pearl repair splice, at the bottom seam on 14x18, Click Here
and that seam has a crack running along it’s side, hard to see... Click Here
There is a similar seam overlap flaw on the 16x16 floor tom. ....
The bass drum looks great with a new pair of reproduction hoops..
All three toms are quite nice and have all the right rims + rods.
All three toms have logo bottom heads, new top brush Ambassadors.
Bass has new white logo front head and Remo Powerstroke3 batter.. Click Here
If you want a nice complete chrome Dynasonic of the era .. 5/$3318
Or if all you want is only the four white drums and arms: 4/$2818 Click Here

Winters came and went, boy did it take a long time,
We also had another anniversary of Hurricane Irene.
Irene caused us to have torrential rain
which caused our basement walls to bulge inwards from the erosion,
So other than that, we were good.
People near me in Washington County, and in Vermont
lost businesses, homes, barns, covered bridges and more.

Hurricane Sandy was next to damage our area.
Our propery escaped damage and my area made out better than the coastal areas.
Sandy devasted downstate New York, New Jersey,
and other areas nearby.
Hurricane Sandy will go down as second to Katrina for damage.
Thank you to all those who were concerned for us,
We're still paying off basement damages from Irene,
so we are most grateful to have been missed by Sandy.
So, please purchase something, so we can use the funds for repairs to the foundation.
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all those who were less fortunate. .

Thank you to all who let us know their concern for us following Hurricane Sandy.
Somehow we were spared, and never even lost power.
We are still recovering from Hurricane Irene, so thank goodness for missing Sandy.
For those who were less fortunate, our prayers are with you every day.

My wife had back surgery June 14,1999... And she had an uninsured
operation November 6,1998 called micro vascular decompression for
tri geminal neuralgia. She is doing much better, but we are still
paying for the head surgery.. Since good health is more important
than good drums.... I proudly offer some real goodies from my own
collection.... Don’t feel too bad for me, because at least I have
these to sell, and there are more I am holding back.. Which means
they might appear on this list as some of these leave.. So ask...
the important thing is that Martha is doing much better..........

Update from May 23, 2008

Martha update: As of March 13, 2008 Martha's TriGeminal Neuralgia
returned, and would not be controlled even with the meds she took
the first time around. The pain was unbearable, thus an operation
called Subcutaneous Glycerol Rhizotomy was performed May 8, 2008.
The good news is her recovery is going very nicely after a day of
sickness, from the anesthesia wearing off, and a week of soreness
from the medications wearing off, + her face adjusting to it all.
So my condolences to anyone else who knows what an affliction is.
And, my deepest thanks to all those who knew and kept us in their
thoughts during those eight weeks. Martha wants others to know of
TriGeminal Neuralgia. Why?? Because when someone gets their first
pain, typically they think it's a tooth needing to be pulled.....
A friend lost three before he found out. And, neither dentist had
ever seen it before, because it is such a rare thing.............
The important thing is that Martha is doing much better again....
Also, I am apt to offer a few more goodies due to all this.......

Thank You
